Representative artists look at the world around them and see beyond reality, beyond the natural. They apply certain filters that reflect their sensibility, translate subject into style, and create works that reveal their own vision.
While my art studies many years ago in college offered foundations and guidelines, I continue to be inspired by new mediums and the evolution of spirit as well as technology. A mindful sense of theory provides a basis for exploration and improvisation.
I view my art as visual remixing: blending original photography with graphic elements, and at times painting and mixed media, to portray the natural and ordinary with ethereal and romantic elements. Whether I am working digitally or with layered physical materials, the focus remains on depth, color relationships, and shape dynamics. Although there may be material differences between projects, my methodology is consistent. The subject matter or object of each piece - and the energy encountered - determines the form of the work. The goal is to reveal something new about each element, with an intention of authenticity and the possibility of shifting a perspective or re‑imagining our surroundings.
